I wanted to put a few ideas for levelling strategies here. It seems fairly simple in concept, and I can actually give them a try, as I started out at level 1 confectioner.. AFTER the revamp.

I'm going to cover two levelling methods. There are of course, many more, including the crafting addiction one of "I want to make EVERYTHING", but this guide is supposed to make it a bit easier... and so I am only covering two methods..

  • Method 1 - Extremely limited storage space, or wanting to get through the levels in the most efficient way (limiting time spent gathering). I think both these are pretty much the same method.
  • Method 2 - Wanting to make one dish of each type per tier (minimum, obviously multiple quantities) - that being the one with the longest DP reduction, preferably not using rares.

My personal preference will depend on tier. I'd probably go for method 1 until at least tier 3, simply because there aren't that many low level players who will buy food at the lower tiers.

I haven't said exactly HOW MANY ingredients you need to gather, as it depends on current skill. Have a look at the recipes and when in doubt, get as much as you can store!


Levels 1-20 (at skill 100, remember to scribe the advanced recipe formulas)

Both methods

Do the first 2 quests, making extra dishes if you have gathered enough ingredients. By the time you've done this, you should be probably 6th or 7th level (I was).

Method 1 - Fruity (skill 1-200)

  • Gather huge quantities of raw sugarcane. Convert to sugar and fill whatever space you have handy (make sure your inventory is clear though)
  • Skill 1-100 - gather strawberries or cranberries, Skill 101-200 - gather apples or pears
  • Preparation Recipe: Sliced Stawberries/Cranberries, Sliced Apples/Pears
  • Cooking Recipe: Sugared Strawberries/Cranberries. Sugared Apples/Pears

Nice and simple here, can get you from 1 to 20 fairly quickly. Don't expect to actually sell the product, chances are you'll have made at least 150 of each item to get the levels, and I doubt whether t1 food will really sell that well!

Method 2

- Fish & Chips (skill 1-100)

Best food DP reduction time with lowest ingredient collection: (A) Boiled Shrimp (8 mins), (M) Blackened Minnow (25 mins), (S) Chips (17 mins), (D) Sugared Strawberries (8 mins)

  • Collect: Minnows (& shrimp), black pepper berries, water, potatoes, salt rock, unrefined sugarcane, strawberries (8 resources)
  • Preparation Recipes: Prepared Shrimp, Ground Pepper, Minnow Fillet, Sliced Potato, Ground Salt, Sugar
  • Cooking Recipes: Boiled Shrimp, Blackened Minnow, Chips, Sugared Strawberries

- Butter wouldn't melt in the chicken's mouth (skill 101-200)

Foods: (A) Tossed Salad (10 min), (M) Roast Chicken (40 minutes), (S) Buttermilk Biscuits (25 minutes), (D) Sugared Pears (10 mins)

  • Gather: raw chicken, eggs, milk, lemons, white grapes, pears, sugarcane, lettuce, potatoes, garlic, wheat and water. (12 resources)
  • Preparation: Vinegar, Chopped Lettuce, Balsamic Vinegar, Trimmed Chicken Breast, Garlic Powder, Marinated Chicken, Lemon Juice, Butter, Buttermilk, Wheat Flour, Wheat Dough, Sugar, Sliced Pears
  • Cooking: Tossed Salad, Roast Chicken, Buttermilk Biscuits, Sugared Pears.
